Overview
TES is the supplier of specialist water and air coolers to a UK manufacturer who produce a complete line of UV drying systems, bulbs and controls for both sheeted and web presses.

The Requirement
Ultra violet light is used in many industries for curing, drying and disinfection. The light source is often of high power input which could be a serious fire hazard. To overcome such problems the light source must be air or water cooled.

The printing industry depends on U.V. light to give instant curing and drying of printing ink on high speed, multi colour offset litho printing machines. In the majority of cases UV drying systems for the printing industry are water cooled. One advantage being that during a short shut down e.g. paper blockage etc. the cooling water can absorb all the heat output of the light which must be immediately shuttered if the paper stops moving and is not to catch fire.

The Solution
Together with the customer, TES has developed a range of fully packaged Air Blast Water Cooling Systems which provide the necessary cooling for the light source generated in the UV process.

Outcome
A 20 year long, close relationship has ensured a competitive price structure and good after sales service enabling the client to sell 1000’s of drying systems worldwide.
